Common name: Pacific swallow

Binomial name: Hirundo tahitica

Description: 13cm small passerine swallow bird. It has a blue- black back with dark wings and forked tail, a brown forehead and throat, and dusky underparts.

Call: Twittering song “twsit-twsit-twsit”; also a “titswee”.

Diet: Small insects

Habitat: Occurring over nearly all natural habitats except for tall primary forests, especially coastal regions

Native countries: Southeast Asia and the south Pacific islands

IUCN Conservation Red List: Least concern
